The first McLean (or MacLean) firm was founded in 1973 in Marseille by Alan McLean, principally as a P&I Correspondent in France to represent the interests of P&I mutual associations of the International Group of Shipowners’ P&I Clubs.
Alan McLean is the President of the McLean Group with Helen McLean as Vice-President.
Alan McLean was made a Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur and a Chevalier de l’Ordre du Mérite Maritime for his services to the maritime industry both as a P&I Correspondent involved in certain high profile maritime casualties, and as a lawyer.
